Land, City, and Sea

When something strikes me, be it light dancing on waves at the beach or glowing across the Southwest landscape, I want to paint it. I’m drawn to transparent watercolor above all else for its essential qualities.

Transparent watercolor is unique in letting the white of the paper create light effects preserving the paper’s natural brightness beneath translucent layers of pigment. It’s perfect for capturing how light moves through air and water, but demands both careful planning and a willingness to let the paint flow where it will.

If you are interested in commissioning a painting, let me know.
